Overview

Every tool accounted for, issued and due back.

A tool room with fifteen thousand items on the shelf fails in two directions at once. Tools walk out on a signature nobody chases, and tools that should have been pulled for repair or calibration stay in service until something goes wrong with them in a bay.

Tool Room Management holds the whole catalogue on one register — consumables that are drawn down and reordered, and non-consumable assets that are serialised, issued, returned and tracked across their life. Each item carries a barcode or RFID tag, so issue and return take a scan rather than a handwritten line in a book.

Repair and calibration are scheduled against the item, not remembered. The system raises the notification before a tool falls out of compliance, holds it out of issue while the job is open, and records the vendor, the cost and the certificate when it comes back.

Capabilities

From the shelf to the hand and back

Consumables and assets on one register, with the compliance clock running on both.

  • Tool register

Fifteen thousand items and more, each with a barcode or RFID tag, category, location and bin.

  • Consumables

Drawn down on issue, with reorder levels, consumption by crew and spend per period.

  • Non-consumable assets

Serialised tools tracked across their life: issue history, condition, repairs and write-off.

  • Issuance

Issued to an employee or a contractor crew against a job or work order, with a return due date.

  • Returns and overdue

A live list of who is holding what, and what is past its return date, chased automatically.

  • Repair and calibration

Schedules by date, usage or certificate expiry, with the notification raised before compliance lapses.

  • Repair jobs

Sent out and tracked to return, with vendor, cost, downtime and the certificate attached.

  • Condition and write-off

Damage and loss recorded against the holder, with approval before an item leaves the register.

  • Reporting

Utilisation, loss and breakage by crew, repair spend per tool, and stock due for reorder.

Who it is for

You probably recognise one of these.

  • A tool room issuing against a signature in a register nobody reconciles at month end.
  • A plant that cannot say which calibrated tools are overdue until an auditor asks.
  • A site where contractor crews draw tools and the losses only surface at demobilisation.
  • A stores team ordering consumables on a feeling rather than a reorder level.
